Anju Holay founded Next Step Marketing in 1996. Recognizing the value of having a business partner/moderator who has Brand Management expertise, she evolved her business to focus on consumer insight, thereby renaming the business in 2002 to Next Step Marketing Research.

To provide a more complete new-product development offering to clients, we expanded the business in 2009 to include Innovation Consulting, and further refined our name to NSM Research, Inc. We also added two very talented and experienced business partners, Sanjay Holay and Dr. Bob Murray. Together we have over 60 years of combined experience in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and health & beauty industries. With our collective background, we can offer you expertise in brand management, market research, product and package innovation, R&D, and sports and nutrition science.

In 2011, we created RApid Innovation Network (RAIN), a consortium of independent network of experts in product, process and packaging development and commercialization for food and beverage companies.
